The amount of information was extensive, subject to periodic changes, and traditionally delivered through lengthy orientation sessions that made it difficult for employees to retain key details and make informed decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning Solution<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0\">I designed and developed a self-paced e-learning course that organized the benefits program into manageable learning modules covering health, dental, vision, retirement, leave programs, voluntary benefits, workers&#8217; compensation, and enrollment requirements. Interactive navigation, visual comparisons, and scenario-based explanations helped learners understand benefit options while directing them to official resources for detailed plan information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project Highlights<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Organized a large volume of benefits information into logical learning modules.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developed interactive comparisons between HMO and PPO medical plans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simplified complex retirement calculations through visual examples.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Incorporated branching navigation for voluntary benefit exploration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrated links to university and external benefits resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Designed the course to support self-paced onboarding and future reference.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Created narration and visual assets that reduced reliance on instructor-led orientations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Impact<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0\">The course provided new employees with a consistent and accessible introduction to Cal Poly Humboldt&#8217;s comprehensive benefits program, ensuring that critical enrollment information was available on demand rather than only during orientation sessions. By organizing complex topics into smaller learning segments, employees could review information at their own pace and revisit sections as needed throughout their enrollment period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Human Resources, the course standardized benefits communication across the university, reduced repetitive explanations during onboarding, and directed employees to authoritative resources for plan details and updates.
